  3. Part 1: AVOID CAMP BENJAMIN in Alfonso Cavite LIKE A PLAGUE!!!
What should have been an awesome day because of the great weather and seemingly decent looking facilities turned out to be a nightmare!

I will NEVER recommend this place to our families, friends and peers in the industry. Given the chance I will make an effort to tell people about my experience here. We had our annual team building here last Sunday, November 30, 2014 and thanks to their self-righteous, know-it-all, wannabe motivational guru who just wanted to showcase his credentials. It became a miserable experience for most of us that day. The guy just can't take a hint when more than half of the crowd (we were about 200) one by one stood up and walked out the doors. I was one of the lucky ones who caught on early and stepped out about 5-10 minutes into his 3-hour long babbling nonsense. That’s 3 hours STOLEN from us by this guy. 3 hours that could have been spent relaxing and employees from different departments mingling like we were supposed to! 3 hours that can never be recovered! The people who stayed just wanted to be polite but later told us that it was awful and they should have joined the ones who stepped out earlier. The only thing that guy inspired in me is to write this negative review, which incidentally is my first time! So, that says a lot! Camp Benjamin should refund that wasted time and fire that guy!!! He is BAD for your business!

Moving on, the food wasn’t great either, not worth the money we spent. The food from our company’s concessionaire is waaaaaaaay better. Being a foodie I have no qualms about dropping a couple of K’s for a great dining experience, so I know what I’m talking about. Their water dispensers were not working either. I had to wait for almost an hour for hot water for my tea while a waiter was standing by the dispenser to check if the water was hot enough. UNF’INBELIEVABLE!

  4. Part 2: The management could have also made the gear for the physical activities safer. The bicycles used for the triathalon were old and sub-standard. Being a bike guy I was even lectured by one of the facilitators that “Sir, pare-pareho lang ang mga bikes na yan.” when the bikes mentioned were a couple old China-made ladies cruisers (I would place more faith on surplus Japanese cruisers as they are better built and sturdy) and some cheap single gear MTB’s that cannot be adjusted to the riders preference. During their activity, the bikes were shaky, unstable and down-right dangerous which caused a nasty crash by one of our employees. The guy’s got cuts and bruises all over his hands, arms, legs and body. Another had both his knees grated on the pavement when he dismounted from his bike. He crashed down hard on his knees, TWICE! The facilitator could have told us that after we dismounted our bikes that we would all have rubbery legs and they would probably buckle after an exhausting run. Facilitators should at least be ready to assist riders going down their bikes. But, NOOOOOOO! I guess they enjoy seeing their guests in agony. In addition to this, one part of the course was to go downhill… with a cliff just about 2 meters to the left of the bottom part of the hill!!! If one was to lose control going down that part of the course or a gear malfunction on the bike, you will be going home to your family in a coffin! I bet the waivers we signed makes the folks behind Camp Benjamin sleep better at night. Is it too much for the management to put up a safety fence?!!! Also, for the safety of the riders they only provided us with these cheap and worn out helmets which were difficult to adjust or won’t fit you at all. No gloves, knee or elbow guards!!! Thank you Camp Benjamin for thinking about your paying customers’ well-being!

Their bubble/water slide was also filthy! Let’s just say that some of our employees came off it with rashes all over their bodies because the slide was infested with wrigglers (kiti-kiti) and God knows what! The obstacle course could have also been in better condition as well. It was full of debris that could cut or injure you. It was NOT well maintained! The nylon ropes used for climbing were also quite thin, making them hard to grasp and cause you rope burn. By the way, we all have to thank Mr. 3-hour lecturer for the courses as well as he bragged that he designed it himself!

On the positive side I like their pool with their water jets, although they needed a life guard just to be on the safe side. The place also looks newish and clean and the staff was well-groomed, friendly and helpful. Sad to say that’s the only thing positive I can say about the place. NOT COOL!
